Vinted fees, worked out to the cent.

Selling on Vinted is free. Buying is not: every order carries a buyer protection fee on top of the price, plus shipping. Here is exactly what Vinted charges, measured by Pouncio on more than 100,000 listings, with a calculator to work out yours.

  • €0.70 + 5% buyer fee on EU sites
  • £0.70 + 5% UK electronics, capped at £75
  • £0.30 + 8% UK toys and Lego

The buyer protection fee: what we measured

Every order on Vinted carries a fee that the buyer pays on top of the item price. Vinted says it helps pay for running the platform, member support and its refund policy when an item from a private seller is lost, damaged or significantly not as described.

Vinted's help pages describe the fee in general terms. We wanted the exact numbers, so on 9 October 2026 we compared the price and the total price Vinted shows on more than 100,000 listings from the previous three days. Pouncio has read hundreds of thousands of Vinted listings since September, so the sample was there. This is what we found:

EU sites: €0.70 + 5%

On every euro site we read (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium and Estonia), the fee was exactly €0.70 plus 5% of the item price. We saw no cap: items listed at €30,000 carried the same 5%.

UK electronics and trading cards: £0.70 + 5%

On vinted.co.uk the fee depends on the category. Electronics and trading cards pay £0.70 plus 5%, capped at £75. The cap is reached at an item price of about £1,486.

UK toys, Lego and figures: £0.30 + 8%

Toys such as Lego sets and mini figures pay a smaller fixed part and a bigger percentage: £0.30 plus 8% of the item price.

Not measured

Other UK categories, the US, and Vinted sites that price in other currencies, such as Poland, Czechia or Sweden. On those, check the total on the listing before you buy.

Vinted's own help pages agree. The French and German help centres say the fee is usually 5% plus €0.70, VAT included. The UK help centre gives a range of 3% to 8% plus £0.30 to £0.80, which fits the two UK rates we found. Vinted also says the fee depends on the item, the order value and whether you buy a single item or a bundle. We measured single listings, so the fee on a bundle may differ.

Same fee, new name. Vinted's help centre says the buyer protection fee is getting a new name: the Vinted fee. It is not a new or extra charge, and Vinted is changing the name gradually, so you may still see the old one in places.

Measured by Pouncio on 9 October 2026 from the totals Vinted shows on listings. Vinted can change its fees at any time, and the checkout always shows the exact amount.

Worked examples: price, fee and total

Here is what the fee comes to at a few prices on the EU sites. The total is before shipping.

Item priceBuyer protection feeTotal before shippingFee as a share of the price
€8€1.10€9.1013.8%
€14€1.40€15.4010%
€100€5.70€105.705.7%
€240€12.70€252.705.3%
€500€25.70€525.705.1%

The fixed €0.70 is why small buys cost more than they look. On an €8 item the fee adds almost 14% to the price; on a €500 item, a little over 5%.

On vinted.co.uk the category decides the formula. These rows are worked out with the two UK rates we measured, rounded to the penny:

What sellers pay on Vinted

Nothing, on a normal sale. Vinted's help centre says there are no fees for selling and that you can list as many items as you like. The buyer pays the fee and the shipping, so the price you set is what the item earns you.

Sellers pay only for extras they choose, to get more people to see their listings:

  • Bumps push an item higher for 3 or 7 days. The price depends on how long you pick and on the item's price, and Vinted shows it before you pay.
  • Showcase is another paid way to stand out. Vinted shows its price and how long it lasts at checkout.

Businesses sell through Vinted Pro, which has its own terms. If you sell as a professional, Vinted asks you to declare yourself as a Pro seller. Where flipping turns into a business is covered in our guide to reselling on Vinted.

Shipping: paid by the buyer

Shipping always comes on top of the price and the fee, and the buyer pays it. What it costs depends on the parcel size, the carrier you pick and where you and the seller are, and Vinted shows the full amount at checkout. That is why the calculator leaves shipping for you to fill in.

When you sell, it works the other way round. Your buyer picks the carrier and pays the postage, and you send the parcel the way they chose. Sending it another way can get the order cancelled.

On vinted.co.uk the price list also shows two optional services a buyer can add: item verification for £10 and electronics verification for £5. They are extras you choose, not part of the buyer protection fee.

What fees mean for a flip

If you buy to resell, the price on the listing is not your cost. Your true cost is the item price, plus the buyer protection fee, plus the shipping to you. A deal that looks fine on the price can stop being one once the other two are added.

From the true cost you can work out the most you can pay for an item and still keep your margin. Call the resale price R, what you expect to get when you sell it on. Call your selling costs C: postage you pay, packaging, and fees if you sell somewhere other than Vinted. Call the shipping to you S and the margin you want M. On the EU sites, where the fee is €0.70 plus 5%, the highest item price P that still works is:

P = (R − C − S − M − 0.70) ÷ 1.05

For UK electronics below the cap, it is the same with £0.70. For UK toys and Lego, use P = (R − C − S − M − 0.30) ÷ 1.08. Round down, never up.

It works backwards too. If you want to spend at most €105.70 before shipping on an EU site, the highest item price you can pay is €100.

The hard part is R. Asking prices on Vinted are not resale prices: what matters is what the same model actually sold for. Our guide to how reselling on Vinted works covers where to find that number. And a low true cost means nothing if the listing is a trap, such as an empty box, a locked phone or a seller who wants you to pay outside Vinted. Read how to spot a Vinted scam before you pay.

For PS5s, Nintendo Switches and iPhones, our Vinted prices give that number from real Vinted sales, model by model.

How Pouncio counts the fee for you

Pouncio is an AI bot for Vinted resellers. You describe a product in one sentence, and it becomes a bot with the right Vinted category, the model variations and a max price for each. On Plus, every listing it finds shows its true cost: the price, the buyer protection fee and the shipping, added up before the bot decides. Your max price is compared with that total, not with the price on the listing.

When a bot is set to buy, it pays through the Pouncio extension in your own browser, so the computer needs to be on with the browser open. Every new bot starts in test mode and buys nothing until you switch it live. Automating Vinted is against Vinted's terms, and an account can get blocked; Pouncio keeps that risk low, but it is never zero. Read more about auto-buying on Vinted, or compare the plans: Free alerts you and shows what it would have bought, and Plus (€49.99 a month) buys for you, with the €50 guarantee.

Questions

How much is the Vinted buyer protection fee?

On the EU Vinted sites we read, it is €0.70 plus 5% of the item price, and we saw no cap. On vinted.co.uk it depends on the category: £0.70 plus 5%, capped at £75, for electronics and trading cards, and £0.30 plus 8% for toys such as Lego. Measured by Pouncio on 9 October 2026.

Do sellers pay fees on Vinted?

Not on a normal sale. Vinted's help centre says there are no selling fees: the buyer pays the fee and the shipping. Sellers pay only for extras they choose, such as Bumps or Showcase.

Who pays shipping on Vinted?

The buyer. The price depends on the parcel size, the carrier and where the buyer and seller are, and Vinted shows it at checkout.

Is the Vinted fee the same as the buyer protection fee?

Yes. Vinted's help centre says the buyer protection fee is getting a new name, the Vinted fee. It is not a new or extra charge, and the old name may still show in places.

How do I work out the most I can pay for a flip?

Take what it resells for, subtract your margin, your selling costs, the shipping to you and the fixed €0.70, then divide by 1.05. That is the highest item price on the EU sites. On Plus, Pouncio adds up price, fee and shipping before it buys.
